ETHIOPIA TO PLANT 5 BILLION TREES DESPITE THE COVID-19 CHALLENGES
Ethiopia to plant 5 billion trees this year despite the setback caused by COVID-19. This huge plan is building on the success of 2019 which saw the planting of 4 billion trees. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali is keenly supporting this initiative to make Ethiopia a green country. In a recent tweet, you can see him leading by example in planting trees.
Ethiopia is Africa’s second most populous nation and had utilised this strength in planting 350 million trees in a just a single day in 2019. This is a laudable achievement as trees help in the fight against climate change.
